University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust
Phlebotomist
The closing date is 07 May 2026
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
We are excited to offer two part‑time Phlebotomist positions, each for 20 hours per week.
The collection of quality blood samples from patients is vital in many medical investigations. The successful applicants must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills.
Phlebotomy services are offered in a range of locations across North Midlands including Macclesfield and Leighton, ward based, community multi‑cubicle locations and community appointment‑based clinics. Attention to detail is important, along with basic keyboard skills and applicants should enjoy the challenge of working in a fast‑paced patient environment.
Based at Macclesfield, the successful applicants would be expected to work at various Phlebotomy clinics. They should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
It is a requirement of the role that you have access to a vehicle for work purposes, which must be suitable for travelling to community phlebotomy clinics and transporting samples back to the hospital premises. You are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is insured for class 1 business use and for the transportation of pathology samples. Expenses will be paid in accordance with Trust policy when you use your vehicle for work purposes.
