Weekly Rate: £455-£480
Hours: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) | 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: 01/09/2025
Contract: Long-Term, Temp-to-Perm
Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class with a high level of need within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Willenhall, Coventry. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure all pupils receive consistent support, helping them to engage with learning, develop social skills, and reach their full potential. This is a long-term role with strong potential for a permanent position.
Responsibilities
* Support Year 1 pupils with high levels of need, in collaboration with the class teacher and SEN team.
* Assist with engaging learners, developing social skills, and enabling participation in learning activities.
* Adapt learning resources and deliver small-group or whole-class support as required.
* Contribute to behaviour management and support social, emotional, and developmental needs.
* Monitor progress and assist with intervention strategies aligned to pupils’ needs and EHCPs.
Qualifications
* Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
* Proven experience supporting children with SEN or high levels of need in a classroom setting.
* Confident in managing behaviour and supporting social, emotional, and developmental needs.
* Ability to adapt learning resources and deliver small-group or whole-class support.
* Familiarity with EHCPs, progress monitoring, and tailored intervention strategies.
* Sound understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
