Designer (Drylining / Interiors) | £45,000 - £58,000 + bens | Essex/London | Sub Contractor | Permanent
Good Designers are notoriously difficult to find. Good Designers with drylining experience – even harder.
But that’s the challenge I have accepted on behalf of this specialist sub-contractor, who I have been working with on the support side over the past few months.
This is a great business. A £40m turnover specialist contractor with a first rate reputation and stacks of experience working on commercial projects on behalf of tier one main contractors.
The Designer will join a well-established team with a solid pipeline, producing working technical drawings to an exceptional standard in AutoCAD.
That means in reality:
* Detail and layout drawings (fixings, abutments, interfaces)
* Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors and services
* Liaising with suppliers to make sure specs work in reality
* Supporting approvals, revisions and as-built drawings
There will also be scope to get involved in site visits and, longer term, the move towards 3D capability.
Ideally you will already be working in a drylining role but, being realistic, we are happy to look at people from a general interiors background, another sub-contracting trade or somebody with extensive AutoCAD experience in construction with a desire to be a specialist.
The key here is understanding that drawings need to work on site - not just look right on ‘paper’.
If you’re in a role where things feel a bit disjointed, this is a decent setup to be part of.
