Were seeking an experienced Control Systems Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of electrical and control systems projects. Covering design coordination, panel build, PLC/SCADA integration, FAT/SAT, installation, and commissioning. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and right - first - time delivery. Typical projects include generator control systems, switchgear and MCCs, ATS/AMF panels, PLC/SCADA (e.g., Siemens/Allen - Bradley/Schneider), synchronisation/load sharing, UPS integrations, and associated LV power and instrumentation. Experience working on UK electrical projects is essential. Key Responsibilities Project Ownership | Lead the full lifecycle from bid handover through design, build, test, install, commission, and client handover. Planning | Build and manage programmes (MS Project/Planner), cost plans, margins, change logs, risk registers, and cash flow forecasts. Technical Coordination | Oversee electrical design, panel build, PLC/SCADA, and site teams. Review drawings (SLDs, GA, schematics) and I/O lists. Commercial & Contracts | Manage contract obligations, variations, optioneering, purchase orders, subcontracts, and valuations. Quality & Testing | Plan and run FAT/SAT, develop commissioning plans and method statements, and assure technical documentation and close-out packs (O&M, as-built). H&S & Compliance | Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, RAMS, permits to work, site inductions, and relevant electrical standards (e.g., BS 7671). Stakeholder Management | Act as primary client contact, run coordination meetings, manage expectations and reporting cadence. Continuous Improvement | Standardise templates, checklists, and lessons learned to improve delivery effectiveness. Required Experience 510 years delivering projects in the UK (power generation, data centres, utilities, industrial automation, critical infrastructure). Proven delivery of projects involving PLC/SCADA (Siemens TIA/Step7, Rockwell/Allen - Bradley, Schneider), control panels/MCCs, instrumentation, and industrial comms (Modbus, Profibus/Profinet, Ethernet/IP). Hands-on experience planning and executing FAT/SAT and site commissioning with multi - disciplinary teams. Competent reading/marking up EPLAN/AutoCAD drawings and single line diagrams; familiarity with IEC 61131 - 3 concepts. Strong grasp of CDM 2015, RAMS, permits, and site practice. Able to manage subcontractors safely and effectively. Client - facing communication, progress reporting, and change/claims management. Qualifications & Certifications (Desired not essential) Degree or HND in Electrical/Control/Automation Engineering (or equivalent experience). PM certification desirable: APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or PMP. 18th Edition (BS 7671) desirable; ECS/CSCS and SMSTS/SSSTS advantageous. Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel to sites. Awareness of functional safety (IEC 61508/61511) and industrial cybersecurity (IEC 62443) is a plus. Skills & Tools Project scheduling and cost control (e.g., MS Project, Excel), risk and change management. Strong technical coordination across design, panel build, software, and site installation/commissioning. Excellent stakeholder management, written reporting, and presentation skills. Proficient with Microsoft 365, SharePoint/Teams; comfortable with structured document control. Proficient with Project management software, MS Project/Panner, Monday, ACC, construction software. Practical understanding of electrical installation/commissioning in live environments and critical facilities. What Success Looks Like (First 612 Months) Deliver assigned projects on time, within budget, and to specification, with positive client feedback. Establish standardised commissioning plans, FAT/SAT checklists, and close - out templates across the controls portfolio. Improve reporting cadence (weekly lookahead, risk/cost dashboards) and reduce open snag items at practical completion. Benefits Competitive salary £55,000 - £70,000 basic.
