Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and self-motivated individual to join our Stores team in Woking.
As a Stores Assistant, you will ensure all allocated orders are processed efficiently, including picking, packing, and shipping in line with business demand. Reporting to the Stores Team Leader, you will work closely with the Stores and Warehouse team, becoming a vital part of Harvey Water Softeners' operations.
A key aspect of this role involves maintaining stock accuracy, taking responsibility for transactions, and being mindful of this at all times. You will also need to adhere to health and safety standards.
Working Hours:
* Monday to Friday rotational shifts: 08:00-16:30 or 08:30-17:00.
* Approximately 1 in 4 Saturdays, 08:30-12:30, paid as overtime.
Key Duties:
* Pick, pack, and ship orders promptly (including customer orders and product requests).
* Transact items on the internal system (IFS), ensuring correct allocation.
* Prepare product requests for field engineers to support first-time fit rate.
* Handle engineer over-the-counter queries.
* Control stock, taking accountability for transactions and stock used.
* Collaborate with the inventory controller and team leader to implement process improvements.
* Replenish stock to ensure availability for picking.
* Conduct stock takes, potentially quarterly.
* Perform general stores duties, including cleaning and maintenance.
* Follow health and safety standards and report near misses when applicable.
Required Skills and Qualities:
* Previous experience in a warehouse or stores environment.
* Experience with physical stock control.
* Flexibility and a willing approach.
* Team player capable of working independently and using initiative.
* Effective time management.
