We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic Apprentice Teaching Assistant to work in one of our wonderful partner schools based in Bebington, Wirral.
As an apprentice Teaching Assistant you will help teachers with their lesson planning, preparation and assessment and support children in lessons and through both 1:1 and small group interventions.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working with children aged 5-11. They will need to show enthusiasm and willingness to increase their knowledge and understanding of how to support children with SEND, as well as how to support the PE and school sport curriculum. As part of the role there will also be a requirement for lunchtime supervision, particularly around the Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) programme which takes place in school.

What are the key responsibilities of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentice (with a PE and SEND focus)?
* To support children throughout the whole curriculum
* Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
* To support pupils during PE Lessons and after school clubs
* To help set up equipment ready for lessons and activities
* Lead playground activities during break and lunch times
* Support in the organisation and delivery of sports competitions
* Complete risk assessments
* Manage pupils' behaviour to ensure a positive learning environment
* To assist with holiday club provision
* To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to learn
* To carry out reasonable duties in accordance with company policies, including equal opportunities, child protection and health and safety

What training will I receive?
Alongside the role of Teaching Assistant the successful candidate will undertake a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. The appropriate qualification will be delivered by an external training provider and will involve a mixture of online learning, face to face training, additional CPD courses and Level 1/2 coaching qualifications.
You may also be required to complete further training in Maths and English functional skills depending on previous qualifications.
Through this training you will gain the underpinning knowledge, skills and experience required to gain employment as a Teaching Assistant or Sports Coach.
