Supply Chain Manager | Hixon (Near Stafford) | Engineering Refurbishment
We are working with a leading UK engineering group seeking to appoint a Supply Chain Manager to lead the procurement and materials function at their Hixon Refurbishment Centre, supporting the delivery of refurbished pumps, motors, and related components across mechanical, electrical, and fabrication areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional to take ownership of local purchasing, inventory, logistics, and supplier performance – while driving system improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiency across a busy, job-specific engineering environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead the day-to-day supply chain operation, including purchasing, stock control, goods-in and internal logistics
* Implement a site-based supply chain strategy aligned with wider group procurement goals
* Manage a small team covering stores, procurement, and materials handling functions
* Oversee ERP system usage (MS Dynamics or similar), driving improvements in tracking, reporting, and planning
* Collaborate with Production and Planning teams to ensure timely availability of materials for refurb jobs
* Identify cost-saving opportunities, improve supplier terms, and reduce downtime due to material delays
* Work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance, documentation, warranty returns and SLA performance
* Liaise with group functions including the PSM (Pump Sales & Manufacturing) and central Workdry procurement teams
* Support lean initiatives including 5S, stock accuracy, and material flow optimisation
* Report key supply chain metrics to the Head of Equipment Refurbishment and contribute to leadership team discussions
Skills & Experience Required:
* Demonstrated supply chain or procurement experience in an engineering, repair, or refurbishment setting
* CIPS qualification or equivalent – essential
* Proven track record of identifying and delivering supply chain improvements and cost savings
* Confident managing stock, materials planning, supplier relationships, and ERP usage
* Experience supporting ERP transitions or system/process change is highly desirable
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and educate others on supply chain practices
* Hands-on, proactive mindset with commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Comfortable managing and developing a small on-site team (c. 5 people)
* Able to travel locally to suppliers and customers as needed – full UK driving licence required
Summary

Salary: £48,000 – £52,000 includes Bonus
Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Start: Notice Dependent
