Experience of PLC programming = essential. Ideally Allen Bradley / Rockwell automation PLC software, controllogix, micrologix, 5000 studio etc, but could be Siemens S7 TIA Portal, maybe Omron, Mitsubishi or any PLC- but Allen Bradley is the main one here. Electrical background so that you can understand drives, conveyor systems, packaging automation, electrical control aspects.
