Assistant Psychologist – Abbeywood School
Salary: £26,246 - £28,962 plus benefits. This role is based at Abbeywood School in Rotherham, an independent specialist day school providing high‑quality education for boys and girls with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other associated conditions. Interviews will take place on Thursday 18th June.
About the Role
You will develop your skills in building relationships and engaging children and young people in assessments and interventions under the direction of a qualified psychologist. You’ll be part of a multi‑disciplinary clinical team, supporting educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments. Based on clinical assessment and formulation, you will offer individualised interventions and support to our young people.

Qualifications & Experience
* Degree or equivalent in Psychology (eligible for graduate BPS membership). Degree should include components relating to young people and mental health or autism.
* Experience working with young people who have developmental trauma and/or neurodevelopmental needs (e.g., autism, SEMH, ADHD).
* Resilience to deal with challenging situations.
* Team player with a ‘can do’ attitude who rolls up sleeves to help others.
* Honesty and empathy, genuine care for young people.
