About the role
As a key member of the Finance team, you will drive efficient credit and stock control processes, working closely with the Management Accountant and stakeholders to develop insightful reporting that supports decision‑making and provides clear analysis of stock movement.
Responsibilities
* Manage stock control processes, ensuring accurate reconciliation and reporting of discrepancies, and verifying supplier invoice accuracy.
* Complete detailed month‑end analysis, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reviews.
* Work closely with the Management Accountant to ensure all month‑end tasks are completed in line with the agreed timetable, supporting timely production of the Management Accounts.
* Prepare and review key financial reports to support effective financial oversight and decision‑making.
* Provide financial information to stakeholders and assist with ad‑hoc financial and business projects as required.
* Collaborate with the Management Accountant to drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and enhance efficiency while supporting the Commercial team and wider Finance function.
Qualifications
* Actively studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA, with relevant experience in a high‑accuracy, deadline‑driven finance environment.
* Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex calculations) and proficiency across Microsoft Office.
* Highly diligent and accurate, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver high‑quality work to tight deadlines.
* Communicates confidently and professionally with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
* Commercially focused, understanding business drivers and supporting decision‑making through insightful analysis.
* Demonstrated capability in driving process improvement, challenging existing ways of working, and implementing efficient, scalable solutions.
* Strong experience in Stock and Purchase Ledger processes, maintaining robust financial control.
