Band 5 Occupational Therapist – Part Time 29 hours
We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our therapy team at Glenfield Hospital.
Overview
You will join an established team of therapists and manage a caseload across the cardiology wards at Glenfield Hospital, working collaboratively with the MDT to achieve the best outcomes for patients and facilitate timely discharges.
Responsibilities
* Manage your own caseload across cardiology wards.
* Work to service priorities and carry out functional assessments, treatments and interventions to facilitate safe and effective discharges.
* Provide high‑standard occupational therapy care as part of a responsive, patient‑centred service.
* Work with patients who may have complex needs including physical, psychological and communication difficulties.
* Collaborate closely with physiotherapists and occupational therapists, improving your skills and competencies across admission through to discharge.
Qualifications & Experience
* HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
* Motivated and passionate about providing high‑quality care to patients.
* Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, interacting with patients, carers and families in a sensitive and professional manner.
Working Conditions
* Part‑time 29 hours per week.
* Face‑to‑face interviews only.
* Weekend working may be required as flexibility is essential for participation in other specialties.
* You will be supported both formally and informally by senior staff and the wider team, with regular clinical supervision, one‑to‑one meetings, a robust appraisal process and a preceptorship programme.
