This is a senior commercial role responsible for driving profitable sales growth, expanding market presence, developing new opportunities and managing pricing proposition.
As Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the business's development and pricing strategies to drive profitable sales growth for the business balancing the existing business with new opportunities. Working closely with the Commercial Director, you will lead the identification of new markets, customer segments and new channels while building strong relationships with existing customers and suppliers. You will lead the Business Development and Pricing & Quotes Teams, ensuring high-performing functions focussed on driving on long-term commercial success.
As part of the wider Leadership Team, you will collaborate across all areas of the business, sharing customer insights, market knowledge and competitor activity to drive the trading plan and positive commercial outcomes for the business.
What we’re looking for
* Results-focussed approach with proven ability to deliver profitable sales growth in a B2B or eCommerce-led environment
* Strategic commercial mindset and high level of business acumen with the ability to translate market insights into actionable growth plans
* A track record of identifying and delivering new market, customer and channel opportunities to achieve growth
* Strong analytical capability including sales analysis, forecasting, budgeting, pricing analysis and commercial modelling
* Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management with the ability to influence at senior levels
* Leadership and people development expertise with experience managing high-performing business development teams through change and transformation
* Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of representing the business externally with impact and authority
This role leads a nationwide team and the successful candidate will ideally be present in the offices in Willand one day a week, so while the role can be based anywhere, ability and willingness to travel is essential.
