We are looking for a manager who can consolidate the relationships we have established with our current social care partners alongside exploring new and exciting commercial and alternative opportunities.
This will be done through:
* Promoting and developing the BG community options and day activity agenda within the community of Blaenau Gwent and wider Gwent areas.
* Operational management oversight of the in-house Community Options portfolio including:
* building based day services (Bert Denning/ Lake View)
* community outreach support
* work and learning focussed projects including our catering enterprise and café
* community meals service
* Responsibility for developing community-based day activities and solutions that promote independence and meet person centred outcomes.
* Promoting and developing commercial opportunities and strategies for the Community Options services in line with the Council’s commercial and income strategy.
* Developing and promoting best practice models of day opportunities/ day activities across not only within the in-house Provider teams but also as part of the wider community of Blaenau Gwent.
We are therefore looking for a unique individual who can demonstrate wide ranging and varied management experience, alongside knowledge of local authority, health or social care third sector services. We want someone who can think creatively and be able to develop an innovative business model for the service that makes it sustainable at a time of rising social care demand and increasing financial pressures.
You will be an integral part of our Blaenau Gwent social care family here in Blaenau Gwent and will be in a privileged position to be able to make a positive impact on the lives of the most vulnerable people who live in our communities.
