Underwriting Operations Manager (12-month Contract) | £1,000 per day (umbrella) | London (Hybrid)
A leading insurance organisation is seeking an experienced Underwriting Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end underwriting processes and drive operational efficiency across the business.
Responsibilities
* Manage the full underwriting lifecycle: submission, quote, bind, and post-bind processes
* Lead and develop an onshore team (approx. 7) and offshore support team (approx. 20), ensuring service levels and operational excellence
* Provide accurate and timely data to key stakeholders, including Underwriting and Finance
* Drive process improvements and sponsor technology enhancements (automation, AI)
* Deliver management information (MI) and insights on operational performance, data quality, and efficiency
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements within the Lloyd’s market
* Act as deputy for the Head of Underwriting Operations when required
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in underwriting operations and process management within the Lloyd’s or insurance market
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing onshore and offshore teams
* Track record of implementing process improvements and technology solutions
* Ability to manage budgets and resource planning effectively
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in insurance
