Clinical Lead - Occupational Therapy

OccupationalTherapy clinical leadership is being strengthened within our Neighbourhood Teamand we are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative practitioner who will lead toinspire and develop excellent Occupational Therapy practice in the locality. The postholder will work very closely withall clinicians from the community Neighbourhood Teams and work collaborativelyon leadership activities and promoting the delivery of safe care. The role willprovide clinical leadership including supervision across Worcester and DroitwichNeighbourhood Teams and you will support with clinical visits and triagealongside your therapy colleagues. The teams have an established physiotherapylead currently undertaking a similar efficient role who you will work closelytogether with the aim of developing therapy services across the 2 neighbourhoodteams. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced therapist to work inthe community and progress with their career in a supportive environment .
This is a 22.5hour post across the 2 team locations the shifts are Monday to Friday and thecore hours are 8.30 to 4.30pm.

Main duties of the job
Thepost holder will be expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and beable to prioritise and manage own workload using their own initiative toinclude the following:
Clinically lead, clinically coordinate and develop the provisionof an effective and efficient integrated care service for patients primarily inthe older adult population who have multiple co-morbidities within the extendedprimary care pathway of a designated locality.
Provide day to day clinical leadership, clinical support andclinical supervision of the Neighbourhood Team Occupational Therapy (OT) staffwithin the integrated team as well as supporting the Integrated NeighbourhoodTeam Leader and Integrated Community Service Lead to provide a seamless serviceright across the patient pathway.
Support the effective triaging of patients referred to theIntegrated Neighbourhood Team on a daily basis, supporting the coordination ofcare delivery across the patient pathway.
Provide expert clinicalholistic assessment and evidence based pro-active and reactive health careinterventions to support patients and their carers to achieve maximum health,wellbeing and independence.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* In-depth working knowledge of risk assessment and evidence based clinical skills.
* A high level of understanding of the approaches and models of practice relevant to their professional group
* Experience of developing new services
* Relevant experience at band 7
Qualifications
* Degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy supplemented by specialist training, experience and short courses to masters level equivalent
* Registered with HCPC
* Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/Continual Professional Development maintained in portfolio
* I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Experience
* Significant experience of working within community and primary care settings
* Experience of Leadership
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
* Experience implementing change in clinical practice
* Experience of active engagement in audit and clinical governance activities
