Behaviour Support Officer – Specialist Role (Education/School Support) Location: Bridgend, CF32 Pay: £13.75 per hour | £89.38 per day Contract: Full-Time | Monday to Friday SEPTEMBER START Are you an experienced Behaviour Support Specialist looking to make a real difference in a school setting? We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to join a supportive school environment in Bridgend, South Wales. This full-time role is ideal for someone who has experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviour, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). Key Responsibilities: Provide 1-to-1 and small group behaviour support to pupils aged 7–19. Assist pupils with academic tasks and encourage classroom participation. Support students during break times and lunch — often the most challenging parts of the day. Help implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques. Offer personal care support when required (training provided). Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external specialists. Requirements: An Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply for one. EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration – or willingness to register. Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs. Strong understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASC.
