About the Role

We are a small, agile fashion design and development team working closely with brands to bring their collections to life. As an Assistant Garment Technologist, you'll play a hands-on role in ensuring samples and production meet technical and quality standards.

In a small team, every detail counts and every person's work makes a real difference. We value accuracy, efficiency, and proactive thinking — qualities that ensure our projects run smoothly and clients are supported. If you're motivated by responsibility and excited to see the impact of your work, this is a great opportunity to grow.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and maintain measurement charts, QC files, sampling files, and technical documentation.

· Carry out sample assessments including measurements, reviews, and records.

· Provide clear feedback to factories and maintain an issues tracker.

· Support critical path management and technical approvals.

· Use agreed systems, spreadsheets, and templates to complete tasks efficiently.

Essential Skills & Attributes

· Exceptional attention to detail, with accuracy in every task.

· Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and technical specifications.

· Skilled in creating measurement charts and reading measurements from patterns.

· Confident in conducting detailed sample assessments and recording findings clearly.

· Ability to identify recurring issues, suggest practical solutions, and prevent repeat problems.

· Proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and process improvement.

· Efficient, organised, and able to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

· Able to work independently, making good use of resources before seeking support.

· Clear, professional communicator with factories, suppliers, and internal team.

· Understands the commercial importance of efficiency and accuracy within product development.

· Demonstrates openness to feedback and commitment to applying it constructively.

Beneficial Skills (not essential, but an advantage)

· Pattern cutting (from measurements, copying reference samples, and adjusting blocks).

· Client liaison and communication.

· Procurement, buying and costing experience.

Working Hours

· Full-time, in person.

· 40 Hours

· Probation (first 3 months): 10:30am – 7:00pm (later start possible; 10:30am is the earliest start).

· Post-probation: hours can be adjusted to suit your lifestyle, with two fixed days — Mondays and Wednesdays remain 10:30am – 7:00pm (or later) to align with studio space availability.

· Flexible working: Work-from-home days may be possible, based on performance and daily tasks.

Benefits

· Casual dress code.

· Company pension.

· Flexitime (outside of fixed days/hours noted above).

· Opportunity to learn and grow quickly in a hands-on role with direct exposure to all stages of product development.

Who We're Looking For

This role suits someone with prior industry experience (3+ years) who is ready to take ownership of responsibilities and continue developing their expertise. You'll need to show that you can:

· Take on board feedback and apply it constructively.

· Build on prior exposure to strengthen technical skills.

· Handle responsibility with focus, efficiency, and accountability.

If you're detail-driven, solutions-focused, and excited by the chance to make a visible impact in a small, fast-paced team, we'd love to hear from you.
