Job Description
The Group Tax Function is responsible for UK taxes, and the tax issues faced by UK resident group entities. The team has a transversal role, covering all business lines present in the UK, and also supervises group entities based in Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey.
Summary of the key responsibilities of the role
1. Keep the UK VAT Group membership and other VAT registrations up to date;
2. Keep the Partial Exemption methodology updated and agree changes with HMRC;
3. Prepare and ensure the timely submission of accurate quarterly VAT returns;
4. Keep staff appraised of VAT issues and legislative changes, including the central tax team in Paris;
5. Control of operational VAT topics SGLB, SGIL and BALLP, including VAT accounting and invoicing;
6. Monitor VAT topics within the Ayvens group in the UK and Ireland;
7. Provide businesses with timely advice on VAT issues as they arise;
8. Monitor and minimise VAT risk for the UK platform, including assessments of new products;
9. Managing the group’s relationship with HMRC on VAT topics;
10. Participate in the Indirect Tax Committees of UK Finance and AFME;
11. Work with Indirect Tax specialists in Paris on topics relevant for the group;
