At its heart,Halesowen Collegeis a tertiary college offering young people a wide range of opportunities to follow either academic or vocational pathways. 16-18 learners form most of our learner body, and we intend that to remain the case even as we grow and diversify further. We are a college that aims to be exceptional. We are determined to provide the best possible education and training for all our learners, which means striving for excellence in all that we do.
About the role.
The Director of HR will be our strategic expert in people relations, with a natural ability to coach and support their direct reports and wider leadership colleagues, whilst also being able and willing to support managers and staff across our College. Applying expert knowledge gained in other settings of comparable size and complexity, the person appointed will build on the success of our outgoing Director of HR and push forward with our people strategy.
Who we are looking for
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Director of HR at Halesowen College will lead on people services, organisational development, culture, and change. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with experience at senior level or the ambition and track record to step up into such a role. You’ll be a visionary, detail-oriented leader who ensures strategic goals are embedded throughout the organisation while fostering a high-performing, positive workplace culture.
This is not a traditional HR role—it’s about shaping the future of our College and its people. You’ll be a skilled coach and communicator, passionate about developing others and supporting our mission to transform the lives of learners across the West Midlands. With influence across the senior team and Board of Governors, you’ll translate insight into action, helping us become an employer of choice and a catalyst for social mobility.
