Job Title: Buyer
Location: Paddock Wood, Kent
Pay: £17 - £18.90 per hour
Contract Details: Temp To Perm, Full Time
Hours: 35hrs per week! Early finish on fridays!
Responsibilities:
1. Interpret the company's requirement plan to generate or amend order covers.
2. Progress purchase orders to ensure on-time customer delivery.
3. analyse buying patterns and predict trends, managing stock levels effectively.
4. Meet and assess suppliers to ensure quality and negotiate favourable contract terms.
5. ️ Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, addressing quality issues promptly.
6. Secure long-term cost agreements with suppliers and identify new opportunities.
7. Review purchase agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
8. Initiate cost-down programmes with the Supply Chain Manager.
9. ️ Maintain accurate electronic and manual systems for procurement.
10. Report performance data for vendor management.
11. Collaborate with accounts staff for financial data related to procurement.
12. ️ Serve as SAP Super User for the Purchasing function.
13. Manage Contractor fitments to align with production requirements.
Skills and Abilities:
14. SAP experience is essential
15. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
16. Strong negotiation and sales skills.
17. Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
18. Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
19. Good administrative skills.
20. Willingness to pursue CIPS qualifications or demonstrate extensive purchasing knowledge.
