Overview
This is a new 10 PA full-time locum consultant general urologist post for 6 months.
The successful candidate will join a team of friendly, supportive urology consultants within an established comprehensive urology service. The workload is predominantly general urology, with flexibility for subspecialty interests. The service receives referrals from the wider Nottinghamshire area and some tertiary referrals; cross-site working with Sherwood Forest Hospitals may be required. The department offers day case ureteroscopy, TURBT, TURP, and on-site lithotripsy, hot ureteroscopy, ESWL, and PCNL.
Main duties
The appointee will:
* Provide a full range of Urology emergency and elective care for patients admitted under Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
* Work with Consultant colleagues to deliver a comprehensive elective and emergency Urology service.
* Provide reciprocal cover during periods of leave.
* Take ongoing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge and for the proper functioning of the department.

Person specification
Training & Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* CCT or equivalent within 6 months of interview date
Desirable
* Higher Professional degree
Communication and relationship skills
* Able to develop, present and operationalise coherent ideas for service development/delivery.
Experience
* Evidenced technical skills as described in the job description; able to communicate effectively with patients, families and health professionals.
Analytical and Judgement Skills
* Ability to develop and deliver services; able to delegate appropriately; evidence of participation in clinical audit; able to teach and support junior staff.
Planning and Organisation Skills
* Ability to prioritise own workload; flexible in a changing health service; able to use the Trust's IT systems.
Physical Skills
* Manual dexterity required to perform tasks.
