Applications are invited for the post of Workshop Manager to support our fleet maintenance function at our Gillmoss depot.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will ensure that daily service targets are met, and all maintenance tasks are completed to exacting standards.
Through first-line supervision, you will control daily workshop loading, monitor H&S practices and ensure buses are in top condition for our customers.
You will communicate targets and action plans to staff each day via briefing sessions with the emphasis on improved reliability.
A firm technical knowledge is key, as you will be first port of call to assist our teams diagnosing and rectifying complex issues.
You will also be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance; ensuring premises are secure, cleaned and safe for staff and visitors.
The role demands someone with energy, enthusiasm and the ability to motivate staff to meet the targets and the high standards we set for the maintenance and cleaning of our buses and to ensure that they are available for the deadlines required for the daily operation of our bus services.

An excellent salary and benefit scheme are on offer along with career progression opportunities.
Aside from the reward of helping to deliver an incredible experience to our customers, there’s plenty more we can offer:

2. Free travel – for you and your companion on our buses. That means on your days off you can be off shopping for free without worrying about parking the car, or heading off for a day in the city without paying a fortune in petrol or train fares!
3. A great regular income and great benefits – £40k per annum,, £250 0 joining incentive – Receive £1250 after 2 months and the remaining £1250 after 6 months. Plus a good pension scheme to look after you after you’ve hung up the spanner!
4. Promotions – perhaps you’re happy sticking as a Master Technician and that’s fine by us, but if you want to progress we’ll support you every step of the way. You will be given exposure to work which will develop your skills and experience to allow you to progress your career further. Many of our Stagecoach Merseyside, Cheshire & South Lancashire Engineering Managers started off as Master Technicians – so that could very well be you in the not too distant future!
5. Training – a dedicated high level training programme to reinforce the skills you already have and an opportunity to gain a qualification in another trade!
