We're partnered with a public sector organisation in the South West to recruit a Procurement Manager to lead onplex procurement initiatives and value for money andpliance. Your new role
As Procurement Manager, you’ll act as the lead advisor on procurement strategy, frameworks, and policy. You’ll manage high-value contracts, provide expert guidance to senior stakeholders, and represent the organisation at regional and national forums. The role also involves leading improvement projects, shaping procurement objectives, and delivering training to internal teams and partners.
You'll be assigned to one of three category areas based on your previous skills and experience. These service areas are the following:
1. Professional Services (IT, Finance, HR, Legal & Estates)
2. People Services (Social Care, Health & Education)
Key responsibilities include:
3. Leading procurement strategy andplex contract management.
4. Manage end-to-end procurement for a set of indirect categories, ranging from call offs to tenders
5. Advising senior officers and influencing strategic decisions.
6. Driving innovation and best practice across procurement processes.
7. Ensuring procurements are run in line with public regulations (PA23)
8. Working closely with budget holders to advise on procurement approach and best practice
9. Designing and delivering procurement training programmes.
What you'll need to succeed
10. MCIPS qualified or equivalent working experience
11. In-depth knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and frameworks such as PA23, TPP training would be highly desirable
12. Proven experience managingplex procurement projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
13. Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
14. A proactive and strategic mindset with the ability to drive change.
