Business Development Associate - Renewable Energy
Elawan Energy is a global operator in the renewable energy industry with projects in over 15 countries. We specialize in providing integrated solutions across the entire lifecycle of clean energy, from the promotion, development, and construction of wind farms, photovoltaic plants, and hydroelectric power stations, to their operation, maintenance, and the sale of the generated clean energy. Currently, Elawan has 2.1 GW in operations and boasts an impressive portfolio of 8 GW in projects, with 2.5 GW in an advanced development phase and another 5.5 GW in an earlier stage.
We are looking for a new member to join our Business Development team in the United Kingdom Business Unit, to nurture our commercial and technical relationships with our clients and broaden geographically our business horizons.
Reporting directly to the Business Development responsible of England and Wales, your main responsibilities will be:
* Create and develop new and profitable Solar, Wind and Storage opportunities from identification of potential projects up to the ready to build phase.
* Evaluate the economic and technical feasibility of projects, managing greenfield, co-development and M&A opportunities and implements BD strategy in the region focusing on market analysis and project opportunity assessments from a market/ financial and technical perspective.
* Key role in the origination of opportunities in the UK region with emphasis on the analysis stage: country analysis, market intelligence and support for preparation of internal and external documentation.
* Explore regional needs, gather specific regional market intelligence, and identify key topics of interest to incorporate in the regional approach strategies.
* Help managing engineering studies, environmental impact assessments and other technical staff in connection to the projects in order to secure permitting/planning permission.
* Manage and coordinate with all project stakeholders, as well as relationships with government bodies at all levels, co-developers, TSO/DSO, landowners, and consultants.
* Supports on project due diligence processes and project acquisition closings.
Experience:
* Minimum 6 months experience in UK renewable sector.
* BSc. Degree in Engineering, Finance, or related fields. Specialized master’s degree or additional training on renewables is a plus.
Employee must be already located in United Kingdom and/or be legally eligible to work there.
The job implies frequent domestic travel.
* Proficiency in Excel and accounting: prior financial modelling for energy or infrastructure projects and VBA experience will be valued.
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
* Proactivity, teamworking and communication.
* Knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage.
