Job: Task Coordinator Location: Site based Portland, Dorset (Osprey Quay) Design systems that are built, tested, and deployed in some of the worlds most demanding environments. Were looking for a Task Coordinator to join our ESS - Deployable Infrastructure Group, helping turn concepts into real-world systems that are manufactured, deployed, and used in the field. With our integration facility located on-site, youll have the unique opportunity to see your contribution come to life. Project Management oversight and involvement in delivering systems from concept through build, integration, and final deployment, ensuring cost control and budget adherence throughout. What youll be doing As Task Coordinator, youll play a central role in keeping the contract programme running smoothly, connecting planning, people, and delivery to ensure tasks are executed efficiently and on time. You will: Support the Project Manager in delivering the contract programme successfully Plan, create, and maintain task schedules and work plans for programme Call Off activities Prioritise tasking based on urgency, resource availability, and operational location Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly assignments with field service engineers Act as the primary point of contact for all programme Call Off tasking Communicate clearly with stakeholders on requirements, deadlines, and progress updates Track task completion, ensuring delivery remains on schedule Identify delays, risks, and resource gaps, escalating where necessary Ensure teams have the information, tools, and support required to deliver effectively Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and outstanding actions Take a proactive approach to problem-solving, anticipating and mitigating potential issues Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes Operate in full compliance with IMS policies and procedures Why this role is different This isnt a typical coordination role. Essential GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade AC or equivalent) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to relay instructions accurately and confidently Strong organisational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities effectively Proactive approach to identifying and addressing delays or issues Resourceful mindset with the ability to overcome obstacles Experience coordinating teams and working with cross-functional groups Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail Desirable Mechanical or Electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, ONC) Knowledge of BS7671 certification Mechanical or Electrical background or experience in a technical environment Who you are Youre a highly organised and dependable coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment.
