Milton Keynes College Group supports talented and passionate learners attending art classes within our prison-based education departments. We are seeking an Art Tutor to join the Education Team at HMP Erlestoke to deliver classes to diverse groups of learners.
As an Art Tutor, you will bring previous teaching experience and a formal art qualification. The ideal candidate will engage and support students in their artistic development, delivering engaging classes that foster not only creative skills but also confidence, softer skills, and personal growth applicable beyond the classroom. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of learners in a prison environment and have a positive, lasting impact on their education experience.

ABOUT HMP ERLESTOKE
HMP Erlestoke is a Category C prison for approximately 444 adult male sentenced offenders. Located on the grounds of the former Erlestoke Manor House, the prison emphasizes reducing re-offending through accredited programs, vocational training, and education in a supportive environment.
Courses include Maths, English, IT, Horticulture, Carpentry, Cleaning, Support Services, Hospitality, Creative Crafts, Customer Service, Team Leading, and Learning Support.
Education hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 11:15am and 2:00pm - 4:30pm, and Friday 8:30am - 11:15am. Erlestoke staff and learners participate in various projects, including archaeological digs and arts festivals, fostering engagement and community involvement.
The prison also publishes an internal magazine promoting events, projects, well-being, and education initiatives.
