Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (MPS/UPS, depending on experience)

About the School
We are pleased to be supporting a well-established secondary school in Watford that is known for its high academic expectations, inclusive ethos, and strong pastoral support. Due to continued growth within the department, the school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from February 2026. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers seeking a supportive and well-resourced setting.
The Role
You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons that inspire curiosity and analytical thinking. The ability to teach a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
Plan and teach practical and theoretical lessons that engage all learners
Create a positive classroom environment that promotes scientific enquiry
Monitor progress through assessment and provide clear, actionable feedback
Support students in preparation for GCSE examinations
Contribute to curriculum development and shared resources
Promote STEM learning through enrichment activities and clubs
Take an active role in the wider life of the school
The Ideal Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (strong unqualified candidates considered)
Has experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education
Uses creative, inclusive teaching approaches
Maintains high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply
