SSE's Solar and Battery Storage team is one of the fastest growing parts of SSE Group with an exciting multi-GW pipeline of projects in train.
About the Role
Base Location: Flexible UK| We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. You can be based at any of our bases including Perth, Glasgow, Reading or London.
Salary: £55,200 to £83,000 depending on experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As our Value Proposition Manager, you'll evaluate and develop new business cases for the Solar & Battery team, optimising current models, contracts, and technologies to guide project and acquisition strategies. Your role involves leading innovative projects and strategic planning. You'll work within the Commercial Team and with Procurement, Engineering, and Strategy teams to establish key assumptions, advancing investment cases for decision-making and approval.
Main accountabilities may include:
- Identifying and developing a range of Solar and Battery value propositions across strategic horizons, enhancing project business cases, and evaluating new opportunities.
- Leading cross-functional groups to create compelling business cases, factoring in strategic insights, commercial models, and market analyses.
- Engaging and coordinating with other SSE Energy businesses to identify and optimize Solar and Battery value propositions.
- Establishing, owning, and maintaining the evaluation and decision-making processes for all Solar and Battery value propositions.
- Maintaining a detailed Risk and Opportunity register for thorough monitoring and strategic decision making.
What do I need?
To excel in this pivotal role, we're looking for candidates with:
- Expertise in Energy industry business strategy, understanding of energy markets and business models.
- Skilled in commercial and financial analysis.
- Understanding and keen interest in developing and launching profitable propositions in the Energy sectors.
- Excellent collaborative abilities to work with engineers and influence teams for strategic goals.
= Skilled in crafting compelling stories evidenced by analytical market research.
