Location : Ruthin, North Wales Contract : Permanent, full time Salary : Competitive The Role Jones Bros are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Junior IT Technician to join our busy IT Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in IT within a well-established and growing civil engineering business. The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support to employees across the organisation and assist with the deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of IT systems and equipment. Working as part of a friendly and experienced team, you will report directly to the IT Manager and help support the day-to-day operation of the companys IT infrastructure. The role will involve supporting users both remotely and in person, including occasional visits to company sites across the UK. Key Responsibilities Providing first-line technical support via the IT Help Desk, email and telephone. Logging, managing and resolving support tickets through the Help Desk system. Escalating technical issues to senior IT team members where appropriate. Preparing, configuring and deploying laptops, desktops, mobile devices and other IT equipment. Assisting with device imaging, software installations and updates. Troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues. Supporting users with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. Assisting with basic networking tasks, including connectivity troubleshooting and Wi-Fi support. Supporting the setup and maintenance of printers, scanners and other office equipment. Maintaining the IT Asset Register, including booking equipment in and out. Assisting with the setup of meeting room technology and presentation equipment. Supporting IT projects and infrastructure upgrades when required. Maintaining internal IT documentation and procedures. Travel Requirements This role will involve occasional travel to Jones Bros sites across the UK to assist with IT installations, maintenance and user support. Some travel may require overnight hotel stays depending on project requirements. Essential Requirements A strong interest in IT and technology. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills. Willingness to travel to company sites across the UK when required (Full UK driving licence) Desirable Skills / Experience Previous experience in an IT support or help desk role. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Familiarity with Microsoft 365. Basic understanding of networking concepts. Experience preparing and deploying laptops and mobile devices.
