Responsibilities
Project Ownership & Delivery:
* Take full responsibility for the delivery of assigned engineering and fabrication projects from handover to completion.
* Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
* Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
Customer Liaison & Satisfaction
* Act as the main point of contact for allocated customers, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
* Attend customer meetings, site visits, and project reviews where required.
* Ensure customer requirements are fully understood, communicated, and met or exceeded.
Shop Floor Coordination
* Oversee all aspects of project execution on the shop floor, including fabrication, welding, and assembly.
* Liaise with production supervisors, team leaders, and operatives to ensure smooth workflow and efficient use of resources.
* Proactively identify and resolve shop floor issues that could impact delivery or quality.
Technical & Engineering Support
* Interpret technical drawings, customer specifications, and engineering documentation.
* Provide clear technical guidance to production teams to ensure accurate manufacturing.
* Coordinate with design and CAD teams to address engineering changes or issues.
Essential
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Proven engineering and fabrication knowledge/experience/background
* Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings
* Computer literate
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise closely with customers
* Ability to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team
* Ability to handle multiple varied projects from order through to completion
* Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organized, and self-motivated
Desirable
* Excellent knowledge of all welding techniques
* CAD qualifications and experience are preferable but not essential for this role, training will be provided where necessary.
