They are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join a close-knit engineering team in Oxford, contributing across the full SDLC from BSP and drivers through to control algorithms, CI/CD, and the rigorous design documentation required in a regulated environment.
What you will be doing:
* Designing and developing embedded software for a Class II/III medical device
* Owning requirements, traceability, and DHF documentation to IEC 62304 and ISO 14971 standards
* Implementing and optimising RTOS based multi-tasking systems such as SafeRTOS
* Working with communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet and CAN
* Actively contributing to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, TDD and BDD practices
* Collaborating with Electronics, Systems, Data Science, QARA and Field Service teams
* Supporting complaint resolution, root cause analysis and continuous improvement
What we are looking for:
* Strong C/C++ skills with experience in safety critical or regulated embedded systems
* Hands on experience with microcontrollers, MCUs and HAL development
* Familiarity with tools such as IAR, Git, Bitbucket, Azure CI/CD, Jira and UML tools
* Exposure to requirements management tools such as Codebeamer, Polarion or Jama
* A track record of delivering to IEC 62304 or an equivalent regulated framework
* Degree in Computer Science or a relevant engineering discipline
