Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Saturday long days, consisting of 31.57 hours per week. This post is for the Renal Dialysis Unit based within Stobhill Hospital. The unit provides haemodialysis treatment to renal dialysis outpatients, with 2 patient shifts operating each day, Monday to Saturday.
The unit is a friendly and welcoming outpatient area, part of the larger regional renal services, which consist of 6 outpatient haemodialysis units, a community home therapies unit and the main inpatient hub housed on level 4 of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 HCSW within the unit, who possesses the relevant knowledge, clinical skills and experience to successfully appoint to the role. This is a busy unit and the postholder will be expected to support trained staff in the safe delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care to patients undergoing regular haemodialysis treatment.
The intended postholder should possess knowledge of the standards expected of Infection prevention and control procedures. If possible, your interest within Renal will be helpful. You must be willing to work as part of a team, to support the positive and friendly atmosphere within this unit. Previous experience of working within the NHS is preferred. Evidence of learning is desirable.
