Job Description
The role of Power System Modelling Engineer offers an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact at a leading energy technology company, providing electric power and propulsion systems on large-scale global projects and developing into a key member of our engineering team.
The Power Systems team uses advanced analytical tools to develop safe and operational performance-led solutions. The engineer will be involved in the design & development, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases, and possibly in in-service design and obsolescence support. Your skills and experience will support and influence power system development and delivery.
In This Role You Will Focus On
* Perform complex power system studies and analysis using simulation software such as MATLAB, DigSilent, and/or eTAP.
* Design and specify systems and equipment, support testing & validation, commissioning, and lifecycle support.
* Create clear and concise engineering documentation.
* Ensure designs comply with health & safety standards, international standards, and class society rules where applicable.
We Are Looking For a Professional Engineer Who
* Has relevant, transferable experience, ideally in industrial, marine, or naval defense applications.
* Possesses detailed knowledge of power conversion and supporting systems.
* Is proactive, motivated, and problem-solving oriented.
* Has knowledge of marine classification society, MIL, or DEF standards.
* Can work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of engineering lifecycle processes is a plus.
* Willing to travel within the UK and overseas for short-term assignments.
Qualification Requirements
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field; relevant experience is beneficial.
* UK nationality and eligibility for UK security clearance to SC level.
* Working towards or holding CEng qualification.
