JOB DETAILS JOB BAND: C CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term Contract until 03/06/26; Full-Time DEPARTMENT: BBC Sport Scotland LOCATION: Glasgow Pacific Quay (office based) PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £27,600 - £33,500 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. We're happy to discuss flexible working. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Do you have a passion for Scottish sport, its people and its landscape? From the Premiership to SWPL, from rugby to golf? We are looking for a driven, creative individual with an in-depth knowledge of Scottish sport, in particular football, to play a key role in creating content across BBC Sport Scotland social media accounts. WHY JOIN THE TEAM The social media team is responsible for managing, curating and moderating all of BBC Sport Scotland’s social media accounts alongside the creation of video, imagery and text for those accounts. You will also work closely with the TV and online teams across live events, and with social teams across BBC Sport and BBC Scotland to share and collaborate our content. Your Key Responsibilities And Impact Managing social media accounts, including creating/curating and scheduling content to drive engagement. Remaining up to date with the social media landscape, ensuring that our content cuts through. Establishing relationships with other BBC teams locally and across the UK to collaborate on projects and content. Monitoring performance of social media channels on a day-to-day basis and reporting to the Team Leader and Assistant Editors as required. Strong editorial judgement, especially across Scottish football. Essential Criteria YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Social platforms – in-depth knowledge required of managing social media platforms (including scheduling content) for a large organisation and experience of the reputational risks involved. Digital content creation skills – experience of content creation using Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Premiere Pro. Video editing is essential. Demonstrable knowledge of the full breadth and range of Scottish football, in particular, and other sports. Copywriting – experience in writing and editing copy for social media accounts and website. Evening working and weekend working is required. Editorial understanding and experience - ensuring editorial content meets audience needs and how to deal with complex editorial policy issues that may arise. Desired But Not Required An understanding of the scope, reach and differing audiences of BBC Sport Scotland’s multiple digital platforms. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and across differing shift patterns.
