The Maintenance Artisan Assistant is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Artisan at Bolt Avenue to safely execute maintenance work as per company procedures, maintenance schedules and work instructions. Assist the Maintenance Artisan with the equipment in the factory that includes building infrastructure, mechanical and electrical production machines (pump, saw, fan, lights, etc.). To uphold the quality standards, maintaining Health & Safety practices and keeping work area’s neat and clean.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.
2.Complete breakdown and preventive maintenance work orders, create subsequent notifications, and provide feedback on work performed.
3.Review and request updates to work management and other master data as required.
4.Assisting the artisan to speed up the recovery on a breakdown time, to increase the machine availability.
5.Conduct root cause analysis in conjunction with production on issues affecting equipment reliability and implement resolution actions.
6.Daily, Weekly and Monthly data capturing on machine recordings (Generators, machine grease top ups)
7.Clean, maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment as directed by the Supervisor and Artisan.
8.Clean and uphold cleaning standard in workplace.
9.Ensure adherence to health and safety, environment, quality, and housekeeping in work area.
10.Adhere to defined standard procedures and apply safe work practices.
11.Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all events and hazards and participate in workplace investigations or observations as required.
12.Attain and maintain relevant licences and authorisations required to execute allocated duties e.g., Basic Rigging, Working at Heights.
13.Identify opportunities for streamlining Facilities tasks within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
•Qualification External Candidates: NQF Level 4 (Grade 12).
•Qualification Internal team members: NQF level 4 (Grade 12).
•Ideal: Electrical Level 1 Qualification
•Experience: With at least 2 years related work experience.
•Demonstrates commitment to safe work practices and procedures.
•Understanding of maintenance processes, tools, equipment and uses
•Must have the ability to always act professionally.
•Must have the ability to resolve conflict / problems in an amicable manner.
•Electrical level 1 qualification
•Mechanical: drives: gearbox, couplings and alignment of such, chain and belt drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps
•Must be proficient in MS Excel
•Must be able to communicate clearly and precisely.
