Pay: £1,750 - £2,200 per month
Veritas Education are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hackney, East London, to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from the start of the new academic year.
The school is diverse and community-focused, committed to delivering a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum. Staff work collaboratively to create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and independence. The school works closely with families to support both academic progress and personal development.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant with a focus on SEN support, you will:
Provide targeted 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
Support academic progress, social development and independence
Deliver small-group and individual interventions
Build positive relationships and promote high expectations
Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
Support for Teachers
You will also:
Help maintain an organised and purposeful learning space
Support lesson delivery under the teacher's direction
Assist with resources and classroom organisation
Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback
Essential Requirements
GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent)
Experience working with children in a school or SEN setting
A patient, proactive and resilient approach
Desirable
Experience supporting ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs
A degree in Education, Psychology or related field
