1:1 Teaching Assistant KS2 student, ASD Starting September Permanent Pay: £22,000 SN4 0NS I am working with a vibrant Primary school located in a lovely village just outside of Swindon. This school prioritises developing teaching, learning and assessment through excellent professional development, in order for high-quality, enriched curriculum for all pupils, including those with SEND, ensuring they have exceptional standards across the school. This school has an exciting opportunity for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a year 3 pupil with ASD in September. You will play a vital role in a child's educational, emotional and social development, working directly with them on a 1:1 basis. You must be able to provide a calm, consistent and reassuring presence, adapting classroom materials to encourage engagement and proactive learning. Responsibilities: Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to the pupil. Providing one to one support during class. Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher. Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps. Understanding the individual needs of the pupil to best support them in class. Requirements: Previous experience working with SEND children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively. Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students. Relevant qualifications and training in supporting children with SEND. An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
