The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Home Manager in all aspects of clinical and operational leadership. You will be responsible for delivering safe, person-centred care, mentoring staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining exceptional clinical governance.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing day-to-day care delivery with a strong clinical presence on the floor
* Leading and mentoring nursing and care teams to ensure outstanding resident outcomes
* Supporting with staff supervision, appraisals, training and development
* Maintaining robust compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding policies, Health & Safety standards, DoLS, and MCA frameworks
* Leading on medication management, clinical governance, audits and care planning
* Acting as a key liaison with external stakeholders, residents, and families
* Assisting in pre-admissions, care assessments, room allocations and occupancy planning
* Deputising for the Home Manager during absences
Requirements
* Registered Nurse with active NMC PIN (RGN/RMN)
* Prior experience as a Deputy Manager in a care home setting
* Strong understanding of CQC regulations, DoLS, and MCA frameworks
* Clinical leadership with a passion for person-centred care
* Excellent communication, team coordination and organisational skills
* Experience managing medication protocols, audits and risk assessments
* NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care
