An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join our Accounts team based in Bolton.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure supplier and subcontractor payments are correctly approved.

What youll do:
Process supplier invoices in line with agreed payment terms.
Enter delivery notes, ensuring order numbers, products, and quantities are matched correctly within the relevant cost periods on COINS.
Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice or delivery discrepancies to ensure prompt payment.
Work closely with the Buying Department to resolve pricing and quantity issues.
Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
Check subcontract certificates to ensure compliance with HMRC regulations regarding materials, labour, and plant charges.
Verify the VAT status of subcontractors.
Check CIS status and ensure correct deductions are applied.
Monthly CIS Tax Run and Statement of Deductions
Help with maintaining supplier insurance documentation.
Set up new supplier and subcontractor accounts and maintain existing ledger records accurately.
Processing of employee expense and mileage claims
Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for daily tasks (e.g., basic spreadsheets, data entry, email communication).
Support the finance team with general administrative tasks and assist with month-end processes where required.
Assist with weekly and monthly reporting.
Support audit preparations (internal or external).
Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure all financial data is processed accurately and in accordance with company policies and financial controls.
