What You’ll Be Doing:
Reporting to the Finance Manager – Financial Accounts and Insurance, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a professional financial accounting service across the University and its subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include:
* Statutory reporting in line the HE/FE Sorp, and OfS Accounts Direction
* Leading on external audit
* Tax compliance, including complex VAT and Corporate Tax, UK and overseas
* Finance due diligence
* Supporting cash flow forecasting
* Interpreting complex financial and non-financial data
* Partnering with colleagues across departments to support financial decision-making
What We’re Looking For:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA finalist or qualified
* Degree or AAT qualified
* Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
* Experience in preparing complex financial statements and external audit
* Strong technical accounting skills and up-to-date knowledge of financial reporting standards
* Experience with complex VAT returns and financial software
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
* A proactive, hands-on team player with leadership potential
