Shift Patterns
* Day Shift: Monday‑Thursday 07:00‑16:30
* Night Shift: Monday‑Thursday 20:30‑06:00
* Weekend Shift: Friday‑Sunday 07:00‑19:30
Main Responsibilities
* Interpreting engineering drawings
* Marking off materials
* Carrying out plate perforation using oxy‑fuel gas cutting and hand grinding
* Assembling ship structures, shells, decks, bulkheads, frames and longitudinals
* Fitting, fairing and tacking weld steelwork using fairing aids
* Fabricating ship items such as seats, ladders, false flooring and panels
* Outfitting ship items, including fitting of hatches, watertight doors, equipment seats and false flooring
* Forming material with machine tools – rolling, flanging and cutting (guillotine, cropper, mechanical saw)

o Monday‑Thursday: 1.33× time and a third
o Friday: 1.5× time and a half for the first 4 hours, 2.0× double time thereafter

Qualifications & Requirements
* Modern Apprenticeship certificate (Trade Papers) with SVQ 3 or equivalent
* Current knowledge and experience in fabrication
* Understanding of manufacturing processes
* Ability to perform tack welding
* Experience with oxy‑fuel and/or plasma cutting
* Clear understanding of SHE and risk assessment
* Comfortable working in confined spaces and/or at height
* Safety certification (SHE induction, risk assessment, working at height, etc.)
* Background in a major construction/manufacturing environment
* Eligibility to apply for SC clearance – must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years
A successful candidate will be required to attend a trade test in Glasgow and submit trade certificates following an initial phone call with the recruiter.
