Are you a successful Service Technician or Vehicle Mechanic looking to take the next step in your career? Hartwell is a leading retail motor group in the UK with over 100 years of successful trading. Operating across 11 locations, we represent brands including Ford. We are seeking a Service Technician to join our dealership in Reading.
The Service Technician will report to the Service Manager and will be responsible for maintaining franchise and company standards in a service environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Service Technician
1. Undertake maintenance, service, and repair activities on motor vehicles of all types to the highest standards within scheduled times, meeting company and franchise standards.
2. Repair, test vehicles, and diagnose faults as required by the Service Manager and supervisory staff.
3. Replace components, parts, lubricants, and consumables; record usage accurately.
4. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, free from hazards.
5. Complete work efficiently within manufacturers’ servicing and repair times.
6. Advise on vehicle faults and servicing requirements, including future servicing or repair needs.
The Ideal Service Technician
* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
* MOT Tester certification.
* At least 2 years of experience post-qualification, preferably in a franchise dealership, ideally with Ford.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Responsible for the quality and quantity of their work.
* Previous Ford training is highly beneficial.
