We are delighted to support an outstanding day and residential special school in Eastleigh, catering to boys aged 10-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including ADHD, Autism, and challenging behaviour.
We are currently seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team on a full-time basis.
Role
1. Collaborate closely with class teachers to support learning and behaviour development
2. Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
3. Encourage pupils to develop self-esteem, resilience, and confidence
4. Assist in delivering creative, structured lessons that balance challenge and support
5. Monitor and record pupil progress in partnership with teaching staff
Requirements
1. Enthusiastic individuals passionate about helping young people thrive
2. Experience or backgrounds in education, support work, sports, or psychology are welcome
3. Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy
4. Adaptability in tailoring strategies to meet diverse pupil needs
5. Professional, well-organised, and committed to safeguarding at all times
6. A collaborative team player with initiative and a good sense of humour

Details
* Location: Eastleigh
* Contract: Temporary to Permanent (12 weeks)
* Hours: 8:40am - 3:10pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
* Salary: Approx. £17,400 - £18,000 (actual salary, term time only)
