Scantec Recruitment is partnering with a reputable FMCG Food Manufacturing company located in South Lanarkshire. Following recent investments, they are seeking a Specification Technologist to join their Technical team.

Experience:
We welcome applications from recent graduates with at least one year of work experience in a similar technical role, as well as experienced technical/specification candidates. Full training will be provided.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (flexible hours). Hybrid working arrangement: 1-2 days per week from home.
Responsibilities of the Specification Technologist:
1. Ensure all internal and external documentation is completed to specification, with clear communication of any changes to recipes or processes to all stakeholders.
2. Advise the NPD Department via the Site Technical Manager on project timelines and customer information completion dates.
3. Maintain a detailed practical understanding of current manufacturing processes to ensure customer specifications align with factory capabilities.
4. Monitor compliance with the Company’s HACCP system, identifying and addressing any issues.
5. Support factory trials for customer and internal requirements, ensuring documentation is complete and actions are followed up.
6. Review artwork and packaging against agreed copy, legal, and company requirements, reporting any non-compliance.
7. Manage all relevant customer portals, responding to alerts and escalating issues as needed.
8. Oversee raw material and packaging specifications management and support group supplier audits where appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ideally, candidates should be at the graduate level with qualifications in Food Science, Technology, or Nutrition. Prior experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing sector is advantageous.
Essential knowledge includes nutrition, food tolerances, allergens, and legislation related to food labeling.
