Responsibilities
* Play a pivotal part in developing and implementing global privacy and AI governance strategies, ensuring compliance with evolving international regulations while fostering a culture of trust and accountability.
* Lead the rollout and continuous improvement of the Privacy Risk Management Framework across global operations, adapting to local regulatory requirements.
* Drive the transition from compliance-focused approaches towards embedding privacy maturity and cultural awareness throughout the business, establishing benchmarks for best practice.
* Proactively identify emerging privacy risks, provide expert mitigation strategies, and encourage cross-functional leaders to adopt pragmatic solutions that enable business growth.
* Conduct audits, assessments, and investigations into privacy matters with authority, delivering clear recommendations that balance regulatory compliance with organisational priorities.
* Mentor and guide stakeholders across departments, upskilling teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into technology and product development.
* Operationalise Responsible AI governance programmes by aligning internal practices with emerging global standards such as ISO42001, ensuring effective oversight is integrated into daily operations.
* Champion the deployment of OneTrust's Responsible AI module by driving adoption across functions, establishing robust metrics, and providing transparent reporting to executive leadership.
* Oversee data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), third-party risk reviews, cross-border data transfer evaluations, data subject rights requests, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
* Collaborate with legal, security, and engineering teams to ensure privacy-by-design concepts are embedded in products and services.
What you bring
To excel, you should have substantial hands-on experience managing global privacy programmes in fast-evolving environments. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to mentor others and foster collaboration between legal, technical, and business units. A deep understanding of international data protection laws is essential for cross-border matters; familiarity with responsible AI frameworks will position you as a key contributor in shaping ethical technology practices. Clear communication helps ensure regulatory requirements are understood by all stakeholders. Adaptability is important to respond to shifting priorities while focusing on long-term objectives.
* Extensive experience (7-10+ years) in senior roles related to privacy, risk management or compliance within large-scale or multinational environments.
* Ability to navigate ambiguity and provide guidance on complex privacy issues.
* Track record of introducing best practices and tailoring them to new organisational contexts.
* Strong prioritisation skills to align diverse stakeholders around common goals.
* Deep knowledge of GDPR and familiarity with Indian DPDP Act, CCPA/CPRA, AI governance frameworks, and data ethics standards.
* Comprehensive understanding of ISO27001/27701 and experience implementing privacy-by-design in cloud-based software delivery.
* Outstanding communication skills to distill complex topics for technical teams and executive leadership.
* Agile mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and change management.
