Join a service that puts patient outcomes first. As an Adult ADHD Assessor & Reviewer (Prescribing route), you’ll combine expert clinical judgement with practical, person‑centred care. Your week blends remote video clinics and face‑to‑face slots at our Worcester and Redditch hubs. Expect structured diagnostic assessments, followed by compassionate feedback calls, and later brief titration check‑ins with safe shared‑care handovers back to the GP. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team and have access to weekly MDTs for complex cases. The role aligns with NICE guidance and standardised templates to keep clinical time focused on helping people function better at home, work and in relationships.
Main duties
* Deliver structured diagnostic assessments (history, impairment, co‑morbidity, risk) and provide clear feedback and written plans.
* Prescribe and adjust stimulant/non‑stimulant medication within local formulary; arrange/interpret baselines and monitoring.
* Run brief titration contacts (phone/video) until stable; complete safe shared‑care transfers to primary care.
* Document contemporaneously; produce high‑quality letters on the day; maintain accurate, auditable records.
* Present complex cases at the weekly MDT; contribute to audit, incident learning and quality improvement.
* Support induction, case discussion and day‑to‑day coaching for colleagues; uphold safeguarding, consent/capacity and information governance at all times.

Salary: £46,148–£60,504 FTE

Experience
* Recent UK experience delivering adult ADHD clinics within the last 12–24 months.
* Structured diagnostic assessments and clear, clinically reasoned reports.
* Initiation and titration of stimulant and non‑stimulant ADHD medicines as an independent prescriber, with safe dose optimisation and review.
* Remote titration follow‑ups and preparing shared‑care handovers to primary care, including EPS prescribing.
* Managing adverse effects and medicines risks; arranging and interpreting baseline and monitoring parameters.
* MDT collaboration, presenting complex cases and agreeing care plans.
* Safeguarding at Level 3, with timely escalation and documentation.
* High standard of clinical records and same‑day clinic letters using service templates and NHS systems.
* Leadership of an adult ADHD caseload in primary or community services, or GPwER portfolio experience.
* Experience with ECG interpretation clinics or liaison on cardiometabolic risk in ADHD prescribing.
* Use of objective measures and validated scales in assessment and review.
* Teaching, supervision or mentorship of junior clinicians; contribution to induction.
* Leading audit or quality improvement projects, incident learning and SOP development.
* Managing complex co‑morbidity (e.g., anxiety, depression, autistic spectrum conditions, substance issues) and reasonable adjustments for work or study.
* Familiarity with performance dashboards and KPI data to improve flow and outcomes.
Qualifications
* Professional registration (one route):
* NMC registered nurse with V300 Independent Prescriber annotation; or
* GPhC registered clinical pharmacist with Independent Prescriber annotation; or
* Relevant degree aligned to registration (BSc Nursing, MPharm, MBBS/MBChB or equivalent).
* ADHD‑specific CPD or formal training relevant to adult assessment and prescribing (e.g., UKAAN modules) within the last 24 months.
* Safeguarding Children Level 3 (or commitment to complete on appointment).
* Competence in remote consultation and electronic prescribing within NHS systems.
* Evidence of continuing professional development, reflective practice and appraisal revalidation appropriate to the registering body.
* Postgraduate qualification in advanced practice or clinical assessment (e.g., MSc/PGCert).
* Advanced ADHD prescribing/titration CPD (e.g., UKAAN masterclasses) with audited cases.
* Physical health monitoring competencies, including ECG interpretation and baseline cardiovascular assessment training.
* Training in motivational interviewing or related behavioural interventions.
* QbTest or other objective attention testing training and interpretation exposure.
* Teaching, supervision or mentorship training (e.g., supervisor/assessor experience).

Salary: £46,148 to £60,504 per year, DOE. Pro‑rota for part‑time employees.
