Job Title: H&S Leader
Lead by example, promote and demonstrate the principles, vision, and values of Alkegen.
Establish strong leadership credibility, confidence, and rapport across all levels of the Business Unit.
Be the subject matter expert for all H&S matters and take the prominent role in leading the H&S agenda within the Business Unit. Establish clear communication strategies to effectively share H&S updates and process improvements.
Mentor and coach H&S Managers to improve management styles and behaviors to enhance the safety culture at their respective plants.
Ensure a sense of urgency exists for H&S improvements at each facility.
Manage the Internal H&S Management System Audit program, including scheduling, auditing, developing risk-based corrective action plans, global analysis, management review, and process improvement.
Develop positive external relationships to ensure understanding and compliance with statutory requirements as defined by country-specific regulators.
Develop a deep understanding of the Business Unit operations to identify and manage common risks.
Own all aspects of the H&S organization and performance in the Business Unit by working with H&S professionals at each facility, focusing on continuous improvement, incident investigation, data analysis, and emergency response programs.
Support the Global H&S Director and Business Unit Operational Leads in developing and enhancing the H&S strategy, acting as a conduit between Plant Leadership and the Global SHE Director.
Build positive relationships with Operations Directors, Plant Managers, H&S Managers, and other support functions to improve safety culture and performance.
Qualifications:
* Internationally recognized Occupational H&S qualification (e.g., Degree in Occupational H&S, Chartered Safety Professional).
* Preferred: Internationally recognized environmental qualification.
* Experience with ISO14001 & ISO 18001 / 45001 standards.
* Minimum of 7 years leading H&S in a global manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of OSHA/UK/EU safety legislation.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptive coaching skills.
* Experience with Management of Change systems and Process Safety Management techniques like HAZOP.
* Experience in behavioral safety management systems.
* Excellent people, communication, team building, and organizational skills.
