About the Provision
Selby High School Targeted Mainstream Provision will be a base within the school for six students with EHCPs, where the main area of need is around Communication and Interaction. There will also be two Assessment Places for students with similar needs who will be assessed for an EHCP while in the provision.
Students will have a mixture of timetabled mainstream lessons and time in the TMP. In the TMP, students will have lessons and one‑to‑one and small‑group sessions delivered by the TMP staff and teaching staff. Some lessons will have a curriculum focus, and others will be based around social skills and other life‑based skills. Students will have access to cooking facilities. Where appropriate, students will also have access to some of our external‑based provisions including Drax, Selby Skills Centre and Noise Academy.
The amount of time spent within the TMP base will be determined by the students' level of need. The ultimate aim will be for the majority of students placed at the TMP to attend most of their mainstream lessons, but it is likely that there will be students who will need to spend a significant amount of time in the provision.
The provision within the TMP will also be available to students who are not officially within the TMP, but have needs that would be well supported by the staff within the TMP.
