 
        
        Overview
We are currently looking to hire an Automation Engineer to join our Manufacturing Control team in Chester, UK. This team mainly focuses on PLC programming and visualization. Projects run from A-Z, including customer communication and start-up of a wide range of projects.
Responsibilities
 * Develop a function design specification (FDS) by analysing the client20s assignment (URD) and identifying the most optimal solution to meet these requirements.
 * Develop PLC programming and visualization (HMI interfaces) as per the approved FDS, either to client standards or Contec standards.
 * Ensure the connection and data exchange of the PLCs with parent systems in collaboration with the MOM / MES department.
 * Prepare and present internal office simulations with clients (FAT). Clients may participate at our office or remotely.
 * Commission and start-up on site to test your work in reality (SAT) and fine-tune it.
 * Compile required documentation to meet project milestones (FDS, operator/training manuals, etc.).
 * Provide aftercare support as required by the project.
 * Liaise with the project team and clients to complete the project as required.
You will work closely with your project coordinator and team throughout these activities.
Qualifications
 * A Bachelor29s or Master e29s degree in Electrical Engineering, with Automation & Control Systems, or equivalent by experience.
 * A couple of years of relevant experience is required.
 * Driving license and ability to be located near Chester.
 * Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
 * Proactive and logical problem-solving approach.
 * Willingness to travel; onboarding may occur at our HQ in Belgium or at our Newcastle office.
 * Proficient in MS Office.
 * Knowledge of automation technologies (required): Schneider; EcoStruxure Control Expert and Operator Terminal Expert.
 * Knowledge of additional automation technologies is beneficial but not required.
