Hands-on experience with network monitoring, optimisation, and troubleshooting tools. Familiarity with higher education IT environments and related regulatory requirements is desirable. Flexibility to travel to various UK sites when needed. Responsibilities: Define and drive the technical strategy for the design and implementation of enterprise-grade wireless network solutions across universities in England. Act as the principal design authority, setting technical direction, standards, and best practices for campus wireless and wired infrastructure. Develop and review detailed low-level designs (LLDs), high-level designs (HLDs), and implementation plans. Serve as the senior technical authority (CCIE Expert) for Cisco and Juniper wireless and network solutions. Lead complex technical problem-solving and escalation activities across routing, switching, wireless, and security domains. Provide architectural oversight and governance, ensuring designs meet operational, security, and performance requirements. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and optimisation for existing wireless deployments. Support customer engagement and stakeholder communication, translating complex technical solutions into clear discussions. Maintain active CCIE certification (Wireless or Enterprise Infrastructure) and ensure ongoing professional development.
